A Tangle-Free Solution for Earphones.
Whilst earphones have great popularity by virtue of ultra-portability, the tangling issue of cables often causes frustration for its users. The cause of tangle is that the cables twist into knots during travels in the user’s pocket or bags, with the earbuds and audio jack interweaving in and out, creating a birds nest of cords. Therefore, a study revealed that the best solution is to bundle the open ends (earbuds and audio jack) together which can effectively keep the cables tangle-free. Unlike earphones in the current market which rely mostly on additional components such as cable tidy or clips, One-Third, is designed as a standalone measure that can solve the tangling issue. The earbuds and audio jack in One-Third is designed on the basis of the polygonal relationship, and bonds seamlessly together using a strong magnetic force. This is a genuine approach to the re-designing of existing earphones, by transforming the factors of form and shapes and implementing a magnetic function to enhance practicality for the users.
